5 Dad Gifts For You To Consider This Holiday Season

Dads have a fulltime job. They need to take care of their kids, and that means being there for them both emotionally and financially. When you have kids, you enter into a social contract to watch over them, which is why many dads work long hours to pay the bills.

In this article, we’ll go over a few gifts that kids might get their dads to show that they appreciate them. We’re still a way off from the holiday season, but it’s never too early to start pondering what to get your dad, who works so hard to put food on the table and clothes on your back.

Energy Drinks

Some dads have jobs where they’re out of the house for many hours or even days at a time. For instance, your dad might be:

  • A firefighter

  • A long-haul trucker

  • An emergency room doctor

These are jobs where dads have to stay away from the family and keep irregular hours. These sorts of professions can exhaust them. Think about it: the law allows truck drivers to legally drive for eleven consecutive hours, but that’s not an easy thing to do.

To combat fatigue, you might consider getting your dad a case of energy drinks this holiday season. It’s a practical gift that they’ll definitely use. The Stacker Five-Hour Energy Shot is a popular one, or you might go with the Red Thunder Extra Strength Energy Shot.

These are sure to keep your dad awake and ready for action, whether he’s driving a truck through the night or about to go battle a five-alarm blaze.

Hot Sauce Collection

Assuming heartburn does not bother your dad, you might want to get him a hot sauce collection. There are several different ones that you can find on Amazon or similar online marketplaces. You can get one that has flavors like:

  • Ghost pepper

  • Vinegar and black pepper

  • Garlic habanero

These collections are fun because there are more complex, flavorful ones, and then there are others that deliver serious heat. Your dad can enjoy trying them out and putting them on chili, burgers, pasta dishes, or just about anything else.

It’s also great if you can get a collection from a local establishment during the pandemic. You’re helping a neighborhood business thrive that way.

AirPods with a Charging Case

Maybe your dad isn’t into tech very much. If so, then you might want to nudge him away from CDs and into the streaming music world. You can get him an Amazon Music membership and some AirPods to go with it.

Perhaps your dad doesn’t know about wireless earbuds yet. They have been out for a while, but this might not be something he’d think to buy on his own.

The AirPods, along with a charging case for them, are a way for him to listen to his music in a whole new way. He might still be into Guns n’ Roses more than Kendrick Lamar, but that’s no reason not to embrace some 21st-century tech.

New Sunglasses

Maybe your dad would like some cool new shades. He might not have sunglasses at the moment, or he may need an upgrade.

When picking some out, think about what style he would prefer. Would he like some classic Oakleys or maybe some Ray Bans? Perhaps he’s more of a Tom Ford guy.

Think about the shape to match his face and a color that will go with his outfits. There’s a wide tint and style range from which to choose.

Some New Exercise Equipment

Many gyms are still closed around the country because of Covid-19, and maybe it frustrates your dad that he can’t work out like he usually would. You might consider getting him some home exercise equipment.

You can get him something as simple as a new yoga mat and some free weights for an old-school approach. If you have the cash for it, you might opt for something like a Peloton or a Mirror.

Those cost more, so you may have to go in with your other siblings if you choose this option. Your dad is sure to love it, though. With cold weather coming, this is a way for him to get a workout in at home.

Your dad probably has a lot on his mind this tumultuous year, and he works hard so the family can have what they need. He’ll appreciate you getting him a thoughtful gift that comes from the heart.
