Easy To Care For Indoor Plants

Indoor plants don’t just look good, they also offer a wide range of benefits to everyone in the home. We have seen evidence that links the use of plants indoors to better general health, cleaner air, increased productivity levels and even stress reduction. Given this range of benefits it seems to be a no-brainer that you would look to introduce some indoor plants to the property. When you head to a plant store such as Urban Jungle Canberra however, you will be greeted by a wealth of options, and deciding could be tricky. Different plant species require different levels of care however, and many opt for those which aren’t difficult to look after. If you’d prefer this kind of plant, here are some of the popular options which you could look at.

Pothos

The group of plants which are often touted as being perfect for ‘black thumbs’ have to be great to look at and almost impossible to kill, and pothos is the epitome of this. This is a trailing vine which has gained the delightful nickname of ‘Devil’s Ivy’ given the fact that no lack of light or abundance of water will stop this little guy from growing. These waxy leaves look great in the home and caring for them is a cinch.

Aglaonema

This Chinese evergreen is also very hardy and whilst it may not be as self-sufficient as the pothos, you really don’t need to invest too much time in caring for this plant. The leaves point upwards as the plant grows and they have these beautiful white lines which almost look like thin brushstrokes. The plant comes in green, red, white and even pink, a perfect addition to any home. In terms of care, a weekly watering will be more than enough, and even if you go over the top, this plant can take it.

Jade Plant

The Jade looks similar to the bonsai plant, with its tree-like physique and its small and abundant green leaves. In terms of caring for itself, the leaves of the Jade plant actually retain water which means that they can in fact survive over a month after a single watering. This plant will need some natural light however so you should ensure that you place it in a window which does get enough sunshine throughout the day.

Chinese Money Plant

Not only does this plant have a great name, it is very easy to look after and offers these beautiful disc-shaped leaves which will brighten up any home. The plant is very good at continuing to stay healthy and grow, even if it is placed in a shady spot. This is a plant which keeps on giving as not only is it easy to look after, you can replant offshoots and a whole new plant will spring to life. Should you ever need an emergency gift, a cut from this could be the answer.

Yucca

The yucca only wants for one thing in life, and that is sunshine. Assuming that you have a plant pot which is deep enough for its thick and chunky woody stem, and you put it in a sunny spot, the yucca will be around for years to come. This plant looks great on the eye too, especially if you place two or three of them together. In terms of watering the plant, once a month will be more than enough, making it the perfect plant for anyone who doesn’t have a green thumb, but wants to have plants in the house.

These are the perfect options for anyone looking for easy indoor plants.
