Has work has dragged you down for months on end? If you’ve had little to no break from it in that whole time, then why not book off some annual leave and reconnect with your kids? Your children won’t be around forever! Someday, they’re going to fly the nest and end up with jobs that are just as stressful as yours. So, it is important to spend the time that the lot of you do have together… together. Check it out!

Get Active Together

One of the best ways for adults to chill out and lose the stress from their lives is to get active and either play sport or do some form of physical activity. Now, you could just hit the mind numbing gym each day during your time off. But we all know how much fun that would be! Not much at all… So, instead, why not get hold of your kids and see if they fancy a bit of an active day out. For example, you might want to order a load of Billabong wetsuits and head you kids down to the local beach for a spot of surfing! How fun does that sound? Something as simple as this, will make a Dad feel like himself again. Getting fit and staying active with your kids will make you feel incredibly youthful.

Connect With Them Spiritually

You might use your children’s summer break as a time to connect with them more spiritually. What we mean by that is, if you and your son and daughter have never really explored or shared your interests, then now really is the time. As your child what it is that they enjoy doing, and find out what it is that really makes them tick. Putting work on the shelf and putting your kids first for once can be really rewarding. You’ll probably find out more about them in six weeks of summer break than you have done in six months of working at the office. Connecting with your child is important, after all.

Collect Things And Achieve Something As A Team

Connecting with your children will help you all find common ground and a mutual interest. For instance, this may be something like soccer. If you all love this sport, then you could achieve something as a team and collect all of the EURO 2016 stickers for the collectors album. Your kids’ pocket money will go to good use, rather than just on sweets. Plus, you’ll be able to collect something and bring yourselves together as a team and a unit. If you manage to complete the task then you’ll be super chuffed - even if it is something as simple as sticker book. Moments like this with your children are incredibly important.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you chill out from work just a little bit and also get your relationship with your kids back on track. The best way to de-stress this summer is by spending time with your loved ones. So, really show your children how much you valuable them and enjoy your holiday break!
