Single Dad Attends Cosmetology School, Just For His 3 Year Old Daughter!

Here is your daily dose of ADORABLE! Greg Wickherst is a single Dad from Colorado who was faced with a conundrum upon splitting from his 3-year-old daughter’s mother over a year ago. He did not have a clue how to do her hair!

He “has been shaving his head his whole adult life, so when it came time to put his daughter Izzy's hair into a ponytail, he was clueless. ‘Hair has definitely not been my thing,’ Greg told The Huffington Post”.

What’s a father to do? Attend cosmetology classes, obviously. He “works as an admissions representative at the IntelliTec College, which luckily, has a cosmetology department. Last summer, Greg visited the department to ask students to help him out. ‘In no time, I was able to do a simple braid, then a fishbone braid, and a French braid. I learned how to do a ponytail, then flip it through itself either under or over. I call that an inverted ponytail,’ he said”.

An increasing number of dads have demonstrated their hairstyling skills by posting their daughters’ pictures on social media, and the posts have gone viral. Many many dads order hair products from online sites like HairInsights, as they feel embarrassed going into traditionally female-dominated hair and beauty brick and mortar stores. So they now feel able to express their inner hairstylist in the comfort of their own homes, to the delight of their daughters!

Greg also spoke about how this was a great bonding opportunity enabling him to spend some quality time with his daughter in addition to setting her up with great hairstyles that she loves showing off.

His most important piece of advice for other single Dads is to “enjoy every minute of it”. We couldn’t agree more!
