The whole world seems to have gone Minion crazy. But, in the midst of the global marketing onslaught, this picture of a father and son going to see the film together has reminded us all what it’s all about.
The Minions film was released in the US over the weekend and this adorable picture of a dad and his son going to see the film on the New York subway was shared yesterday by Redditor Boba_F37T.
It was captioned: ‘Father of the year award goes to this gentleman who was taking a very excited boy to the movies.’

We have to agree. The picture shows dad in full Minions costume, with dungarees, bright yellow T-shirt and goggle glasses. He’s totally owning the look.
In fact, others have speculated that it’s actually the son who’s indulging dad’s Minions mania. One Redditor writes: ‘Son of the year award goes to this little trooper, letting his dad use him as an excuse to feed dad’s minion obsession.’
Another added: ‘Dude my dad loves minions more than anything. The son might be tolerating the dad’s fandom here.’
Either way, this dad’s one in a Minion.
