4 Gifts That Fathers Might Enjoy

There’s no doubt that dads do a lot for their families. They might work forty hours per week to keep food on the table, or a lot more than that. They may hold down multiple jobs, possibly doing work they don’t like very much.

If the dad in your family has a birthday coming up, or some other event where you need to get them a gift, you may not be sure about what to get them. One thing you can do is to look at their interests and determine what they might enjoy based on that.

On this list, you’ll find some gift options that your family’s dad might enjoy. There are some more expensive selections here, but also some more modestly-priced ones.

Some Good Scotch

You should realize that dads have to pay for many things that aren’t much fun. For instance, if the family lives in Florida and dad drives, the law requires that he pay for a minimum of $10,000 in personal injury protection. Having to pay for things like car insurance isn’t exactly a party.

You might notice that dad doesn’t buy himself many frivolous things because he spends all his money on practical items the family needs. However, maybe you happen to know that dad likes high-end scotch.

Scotch is whisky from Scotland. There are cheap ones and pricier ones, but maybe you want to get dad a really nice one just once.

You can get him something like a ten-year-old Talisker that goes for about $50-60. Maybe if this is a big birthday or some other more significant event, you might get him a seventeen-year-old Balvenie Double Wood. That goes for about $200 per bottle.

Of course, only another adult can get dad this gift. Kids can’t go into a liquor store yet. Don’t worry, though: there are plenty of other things that underage family members can get for dad as well.

An Omaha Steakhouse Delivery

Maybe dad likes a good steak now and then. Too much red meat is bad for you, but it’s fine as a little treat or on a special occasion.

Omaha Steakhouse has been around for years, and they have some great deals. You might go on their website and find a package with some steaks, burgers, chicken breasts, and pork chops. Some of the package deals also have side items like fries and dessert items such as apple tartlets.

The kids might pool their money together to get a good-looking package, and there are differently-priced ones depending on how much cash you have. The steaks and other food come frozen in the mail, and they’ll make an excellent surprise for dad on his special day.

A Massage

You might decide to get dad a massage. That’s a nice thing to get for anyone, especially if you know that dad works long hours and often comes home with a sore back or other aches and pains.

You can look around in your area and see what massage places there are. You should go with one that has some positive reviews. Maybe you can get one that offers sports massage, deep-tissue massage, and other varieties.

This gift is not usually too pricey. Most massages run anywhere from $50-100 per hour. There are more expensive ones, but if you don’t have a ton of money to drop on this purchase, a more modestly-priced one should do fine.

An Arts and Crafts Project

Maybe the kids want to get dad a nice gift, but they have very little money. If so, they’ll need to get a bit creative.

The reality is that dads love their children, and they don’t expect lavish gifts from them. Still, some small token is nice because it shows that you care about him.

You might look at the arts and crafts materials that you have and try to make your dad something using those. Maybe you can make him a clay mug with an encouraging message on it. He can take it to work and put it on his desk, and he’ll think of you and smile each time he sees it.

You can always draw him a picture if you have some construction paper and crayons or colored pencils. If you have those things at home already, you don’t need to spend any money at all.

Remember to think about dad’s interests before you get a gift for him. If you consider his personality and hobbies, the answer will probably come.
