Protect your kids

One of the most important roles of being a father is being a protector. When children see their father, they see a protector. As such, you need to ensure that you are one. You can show that you are always a protector by teaching them good safety habits such as using your seatbelt. Share your time with them

As they grow up, children notice differences between their lives and those of their fellows. If you are an absent father, your kids regardless of how young they are will quickly notice this and they will resent you for being an absent father. To ensure that your kids see you as a dependable father, you need to share your time with them. Make some time after work everyday to play with them, read them books or just let them tell you their stories. On weekends, make time to take them out to the nearest mall, movie house, fire department, museum or playground. By just being by their side, you develop a strong bond that will last forever.

Show affection

Everyone wants to be loved more so the young fellows. Make sure that you always express your love to your children. There are different ways in which you can show your love to your children. Spending time with them is one such way. Giving them money so that they can buy whatever they want is one such way and even giving your kids complements and hugs when they do certain stuff goes a long way in showing your love to them.

Play with them

If there is one thing kids love, it's to play. As a good father, therefore, you need to join your kids in doing what they love most. During those times that you have much time to spare on your hands, you can go play with them outside of the house or take them to the playground for a game of soccer or baseball.
