Gentlemen’s Hardware: Waxed Canvas Dopp Kit Review

As a busy travelling hands-on working dad of 7 I was delighted to get the opportunity to test run a Dopp Kit from Gentleman Hardware, courtesy of DadGifts.com whilst on the road with my family.
In all the hustle of getting from A-B with all of them in tow, you can only imagine how difficult it is to keep track of the essential toiletries that make us busy dads feel human!
What Is a “Dopp Kit?”
In case you are not in the know, it is what is more commonly known as a toiletries case for men; and yes, that is the correct name and spelling - here is a little history:

"According to newspaper accounts unearthed by Merriam-Webster's Jim Rader, the Dopp Kit was first produced by Charles Doppelt, a leather goods designer who emigrated to the U.S. from Germany in the early 1900s. Although it may have been Doppelt's nephew and employee, Jerome Harris, who actually invented the snazzy leather toiletries case, Doppelt was the boss and so the finished product bore a cropped form of his name, giving us the 'Dopp Kit.' Dopp Kits were manufactured by the Charles Doppelt Company until the firm was purchased by Samsonite in the 1970s, and Dopp Kits today are made by Buxton. The popularity of Dopp Kits was evidently boosted considerably by World War II, in the course of which the U.S. Army issued them to recruits by the millions."
So just because we are busy dads doesn’t mean that we let ourselves go now, does it guys? Dadhood is cooler than ever now, so we have appearances to keep!
The waxed-canvas material has leather-effect trimming, that gives the Dopp and expensive look and, and I particularly like the fold- end design with snap buttons on the ends that can either help keep the contents tightly packed and free from spillage (but just in case the lining is easily wiped clean), or expands the bag for extra storage
This is definitely a ‘win’ and I would have been really happy to have this as a gift, so I have no problem recommending it to all my community of dads who want to stay groomed on the move!
