How I Pass The Time In Style With My Nordstrom Pioneer Watch
I have been an avid watch enthusiast for as long as I can remember. My great uncle was a seaman, and as a very young boy I loved going through his collection of time pieces, sand-dials and clocks that he had accumulated over 50 years of seafaring from all over the world.
I have collected watches ever since and although sadly I had to sell my most valuable and treasured ones to survive the 2006 financial crash (after all, who needs to tell the time if you cannot eat?). Happily it is possible to find wristwatches which are low-cost but which are well made and look great!
I have been an admirer of Scandinavian design, my having owned Bang & Olufsen music systems and Bloomingville furniture in the past.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a a So I eagerly ordered the Pioneer Black Dial - Black Vegan Leather watch pictured above from Nordgreen, a Danish company which I have come to greatly admire for its commitment to social and environmental responsibility as well as it’s sense of style (the company’s Chief Designer Jakob Wagner, is renowned for his design work designing for Bang & Olufsen – so this was meant to be).
You can even easily donate to health, environmental and educational causes, just by purchasing a watch!
My first impression was the quality of the watch case, which gives it a premium feel, and its immaculate presentation. The watch is very sleek, and although the dial is large it is light to wear.
If you have older, less keen eyesight like me, one tip would to be to go for the lighter colored dial, because in brighter light the dial can be a little difficult to read – but that is a minor grumble.
I can’t recommend this watch enough and I will definitely add more pieces from Nordstrom to my collection in the near future.
