ADHD is one of the most common childhood mental disorders. Yet, it has a significant effect on the child and parents. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports, 9.4% (approximately 6 million) of the kids in the U.S. between the age of 2 to 17 are diagnosed with ADHD. Reports also show that boys are more likely to have ADHD as compared to girls (12.9 percent and 5.6 percent, respectively).
